I’m not gonna lie. I have been dreaming for about 8 years about prancing through a room filled with quirky dresses from ModCloth. Yesterday, that dream came true! The ModCloth IRL pop-up shop made it’s way to Pittsburgh at 625 Smithfield Street for the last stop of their IRL Tour. The pop-up fit shop will be open through Tuesday, September 27th, Monday-Saturday, 10am-8pm and Sunday, 11am-6pm. Continue reading “My First Ever Blogger Event: ModCloth IRL Pop-up Shop”
It’s hot and I’m sweaty. My fall itch has officially kicked in and I want to buy ALL cozy new things. Unfortunately, funds are a little tight right now, so I’m getting creative with my existing wardrobe! I dug through my closet and realized just how many transitional pieces I have that can give my summer wardrobe a fresh face for fall.
I don’t think there are enough words or exclamation points to describe how head over heels I am for the scallop fashion trend for spring and summer! You guys…I’M IN LOVE, I’M IN LOVE AND I DON’T CARE WHO KNOWS IT!

What makes you dream? For me staring at the night sky sets my imagination on fire. Next time you catch yourself outside at night, take a moment and look up at the moon and the stars. It is such a beautiful thing to be a part of something that is so much bigger than any of us are!
When I saw the Heart and Solar System Dress from the ModCloth namesake label, it reminded me of that sense of wonderment I get when I look at the stars. Throw in a whimsical print, an adorable silhouette with pockets and I was sold! I’ve been wanting to share another Mixtape Monday playlist for a while now and thought what better theme than tunes inspired by the boundless and beautiful, outer space.
I can’t believe that a whole year has passed since starting the Life on a Dot blog! I am so thankful for everyone who has been a part of this whirlwind with me so far. The journey has had its ups and downs, from being featured on some awesome blogs to letting my perfectionism get the best of me. Here’s a few things I’ve learned along the way… Continue reading “3 Things I Learned During My First Year of Blogging”
So, I blinked and summer is almost over (it could be because it is a bit chilly out today and I am sipping on my first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year – don’t judge)! But, before I start to think about how on earth I am going to wear all my dresses during the cooler months, I wanted to share a quick styling tip for the end-of-summer season. Rise and shine…today, July 28th, is #StylishPittsburgh Day! I am super jazzed to be contributing and collaborating with so many amazing (and fashionable) gals and guys in the city I love.
I first became aware of Three Rivers Vintage after Susan Gregg Koger, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of ModCloth, shared on Instagram that a “new vintage wonderland” had popped up in Pittsburgh. That tiny square image was enough to make me rush down to 1716 East Carson Street on Pittsburgh’s historic South Side and check it out for myself! Hiya, friends! Sorry I’ve been missing in action here on the dot. The past two weeks have been a wonderful whirlwind filled with friends, family, my 10 year high school reunion, work, binge watching Orange Is the New Black, and a few happy hours sprinkled in between! But, I am back and I am bloggin’. Continue reading “What’s Your Style? (And My Style Meltdown)”
Who has two thumbs and really loves Doo Wop & the Golden Oldies? THIS GIRL! I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t. From being a little girl riding around with my dad in his truck to my morning drive to high school with my best friend, I’d always choose to listen to these classics.
